Ganesh Chathurti 2014

This year, most of the festivals have been a hush hush affair with last minute invites, shopping & preparations.Ganesh Chathurti is of no exception to this. Just a day before the festival, started working on this arrangement in the evening, took nearly an 1 hour to get this done.

Used news papers, cardboard, quilling strips and sparkling lace to create this setup.
Was quite happy with the outcome :) !

Here's how it looked,

No lights , no celebrations for me.. so set them up too ..

2.5 hrs in the kitchen, ended up cooking 11 types of festive delicacies as prasad for the pooja..

They one i enjoyed cooking the most were "MODAK's". Cooking these for the very first time. Jayanti athe gave me the recipe and explained how it has to be cooked. Must say , they were an instant hit.

After 3 days of Ganesh ji's stay at our home,it was time to bid farewell to him hoping he would return next year. Completed Visaarjan in the evening.

Varamahalakshmi Pooja 2014

Its been a while, i have blogged !!!!
Crazy times! Lots of changes. We relocated to HSR layout this August.

Celebrated the first festival of Shravana masa "Varamahalakshmi vrat" in the new house.
Below are few pics taken during the festival in my house. I have also gathered pics of the pooja done by my cousin's and posted below.

When I shared the pics on Facebook, many called me up asking "How did i drape the saree, what all have i used etc etc ?" ... But when i actually did that on August 8th, had not taken pics...   I explained the process over the phone to every one who had asked me,but that did not paint the picture.. so, i draped the saree again and took the pics step by step.

Pics taken at my house on the festival :
