Cauliflower Tomato Chutney

       Saw this dish in one of the cookery shows on TV today.When I saw this, i was like this is the most weirdest way of cooking Cauliflower. However,my mother was persistent in making me try this and made me cook this today.Good she did,this chutney tastes amazing.


Ingredients

For Grinding: -

  •  2 cups of Cauliflower florets 
  •  2 Big Tomatoes
  •  5 Green chilies
  •  1 Cup of Mint leaves
  •  1 Tea Spoon Oil
  •  1 Tea Spoon Cumin/Jeera 
  •  1 Tea Spoon of Grated Ginger
  •  Salt to taste

For Tempering:-

  •  1/2 Tea Spoon Mustard
  •  1 tea spoon of Channa Dal
  •  1 Tea Spoon Cumin/Jeera
  •  5 to 6 Curry Leaves
  •  1 Table Spoon Oil


Serving :

  •  1/2 Tea Spoon of Lemon Juice


Preparation :

  •   Boil the Cauliflower florets for 5 minutes along with a tea spoon of Turmeric.
  •  Cut Tomatoes in to big pieces.

Process:

Step1 : In a non stick Kadai, add 1 tea spoon of oil. Once the oil is warm, add Cauliflower florets,Tomatoes,Mint leaves,green Chilies,Ginger,Jeera and cook until tomatoes are soft.Once this is done, remove the cooked contents in to a bowl and let this cool.


Step 2: Add salt to the mixture and grind it to the required consistency.

Step 3: For tempering, take 1 table spoon of oil in the non stick kadai. Once the oil is hot,add Mustard , Jeera, Channa dal. As Channa dal turns golden, add Curry leaves and take this off the heat.

Step 4: Add the tempered contents in to the grinded mixture. Add Lemon juice just before serving the chutney.

Yummy Cauliflower Tomato chutney can be relished with Dosa's, Idli;s, Chapati & Paratha's.

Egg Roast

Cooked this dish for today's dinner.This can be served as a side dish for Roti's, Dosa's and Rice.



Ingredients :


  • 4 Boiled Eggs
  • 2 Big Onions
  • 4 Tomatoes
  • 2 Green Chilies
  • 1 Table spoon of Ginger Garlic paste
  • 1 tea spoon of Cumin
  • 1 tea spoon of Mustard 
  • 1 Table spoon Chili Powder
  • 1 Table spoon of Coriander powder
  • a Pinch of Turmeric
  • Few Curry leaves
  • Oil for cooking
  • Salt as per the Taste

Preparation: 

  • Cut Onions in to big slices and run them in a food blender for 1/2 minute to make a coarse paste.
  • Transfer this in to a bowl and repeat the same procedure with Tomatoes.
  • Cut the boiled eggs in any form you prefer in your dish or you could use it as a whole.If you are using it as a whole, use knife or a fork to make slight incisions.

Process

Step 1:  In a non stick kadai, add 3 table spoons of oil.Once the oil is ready, add Mustard and Cumin.

Step 2: Now add coarsely minced onions and fry them until its pink. Add a pinch of salt at this stage.

Step 3: Add Ginger Garlic paste, mix well and cook for 2 minutes .

Step 4: Now add  Tomatoes,Green Chilies and reduce the heat to low,close the lid. This would now take around 10 to 15 minutes to cook well.

Step 5: Once the gravy is cooked & oil starts separating,Add Chilly powder,Turmeric ,Coriander powder and adjust the salt as per your taste. Cook this for 3 to 5 minutes.

Step 6: Now add the Eggs,close the lid and let this simmer for 5 more minutes on a very low flame/heat.

Step 7: Now add the fresh curry leaves and turn off the heat.



Tasty,yummy Egg roast ready for relishing.

Paper Quilling - Butterfly

When  first saw the 3d Paper quilled butterfly, i almost thought "I can't make this, Only an expert could pull this off & me being very new to paper quilling technique would not be able to make one". However, Over the weekend,decided to try and this was the final view of how it  looked.


Paper Quilling - Wall Hanging

Used an old wedding card to design and make this wall hanging.


Gulab Jamun

    Yah yah I know, Lots of calories. My brother has been requesting me to make this dessert from quite sometime now.So at last , I made these today :) !
